Working at Ipsos Mystery Shopping USA in New York City, NY: 1 Employee Reviews

Ipsos Mystery Shopping USA Employee

"The Ipsos is as good as their schedulers and the payments are. Most of schedulers there are reliable, polite, nice to work with. But not one of them. I am a mystery shopper with years of experience but I never had any experiences like I had with her. A few phony encounters with her made me think twice before getting assignments from her. She just can scam you with payments, literally, as it is something normal. She did it not once. One of the assignments was visiting the bank branch. When I came to the branch, it appeared to be temporarily closed. Normally the payment for such visit would be 1/2 of the regular pay but she paid me $1! Now imagine: you take round trip using the public transportation ($5.50), spend 2 hours of your time and get $1 for it. Ridiculous. I emailed her a few times asking to explain why I was paid only $1. She didn't reply. I contacted other people from Ipsos - no one answered. Other situations were not better. The shops guidelines always say if you have questions, contact your scheduler. This is not something that is working perfectly with Barrick. I had another bank shop assigned and I had a question before visit that I emailed her, the scheduler. She replied to me too late, after the shop was performed and was not accepted. I did not get pay. This was bad for business, I needed to have the answer to my questions much earlier. She said that I did not need to email her, I had to read the guidelines. Rude if not nasty. There were more incidents that lead to total dissatisfaction and errors that never happen with other schedulers. As a mystery shopper with years of experience, I am picking jobs I could do well and get paid. But dealing with scheduler like her keeps you in state of not knowing how everything will end up. I cannot be sure that I would be paid for the well done job in general or I'd be paid $1 only. I also do not know if she would answer my questions - no ethics."
