What do you like about working at American Electric Power?
"The work is meaningful, you're literally providing power to the people. The electric utility is the bedrock of modern civilization and it's great to be a part of that."

"The company is really interested in what you do outside of work hours to maintain your professional edge and stay abreast with the latest IT tools and technologies."
What don't you like about working at American Electric Power?
"Limited career mobility and progression, in part because people don't want to leave!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"For employees that have been with the firm for several years (decades) it's challenging to change or improve business processes - fighting the that's how we've always done it syndrome."

"Quality company that encourages teamwork, transparancy, and a client first attitude. Always pushing for new ideas."

"Make sure the jon will stay in the US and not be outsourced."
What don't you like about working at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.?
"My immediate supervisor was very tough to communicate with and had his own agenda, at times. Also, they outsource new jobs, instead of keeping them in the US."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Keep new openings in the US. The company is quite profitable, and outsourcing new openings deflates morale."
What do you like about working at Sun Microsystems?
"Productivity and challenge. This enabled me of to rapidly develop significant product components and solutions."

"The company was bought by Oracle. The culture of the two companies are quite different for any comment to be really useful."
What don't you like about working at Sun Microsystems?
"Greater attention to profitability as a standalone enterprise. Sun was later bought by Oracle."

"May be it is too late to suggest a closer emphasis on profit centers, such as Professional Services, where I worked."

"It is a relaxed, low pressure environment that has a positive mission"

"I had a manager here that often said that it was a entertaining and opportunity rich environment - I believe that was true, while he was here. Make sure you ask good questions."
What don't you like about working at National Renewable Energy Laboratory?
"The environment has a lot of challenges that are (will) not be easily overcome."

"Identifing key individuals, and enabling those individuels would go a long way toward enabling the mission and encourge the talent"

"It was close to my home and easy commute to work."

"Don't, got anywhere else unless you like the idea of being laid off because your boss doesn't know his job or your job."

"nothing really, dull company, lifeless people, and piteous business model"

"Clean house, get new people in just about every senior management layer in the company."

"It's not growing and there are always layoffs looming. Which is very depressing."
