"Decent company in non-growth EDA industry."
"I have worked for Cadence since 2003. It has definitely going through a rebirth over the last five years, since the current CEO has been investing in other non-EDA areas. Kudos to his leadership!"
"I've worked at Cadence for over 10 years."
"I did the job for 8 years, it was a good job. Too bad the management had to lie about things to get their own way. I ended up resigning to get out of the place. Those managers, they all left under a cloud later."
"Cadence Design Systems is the leading EDA software manufacturer. I worked in the Technical Field Sales area. It is a great place to stay at the heart of IC design. Their customers range from small (Triune Systems) to very large (Intel, ARM, Apple, Freescale). Their key to success is to build a great rapport with the customer and help guide them to the most optimal path to produce Integrated Circuits (IC). The sales tools that they employ are SalesForce, SAP, and Target Account Selling. This allows them to look for and build a Win-Win scenario for them and their customers."
"Overall, the company tries hard to make it comparable to the younger companies, like Google or Facebook, but some units are having a tough time inspiring that culture. The CEO is great, very humble, as are his immediate staff. Some of the issues are with those who are a bit stuck in time, for instance, terminology of PowerPoint slides, decks...they still use "Foils" from the old IBM days."
"Cadence is a great employer."
"Management is based in Denver and is outward focused. Management does not have integrity. They are not interested in input from employees. They tell customers what they want to hear but do not back up what was promised or support employees. Every week is a new crisis."
"The company is well positioned within the market, is growing and profitable. The reputation is solid, and the customers are happy with the products. There is little opportunity for advancement, but the work environment is generally positive. The executive management is focused on customer success and is always willing to help in the sales and support process."
"I worked for Cadence Design Systems for 14 years. I found Cadence to be a solid EDA technology firm and enjoyed my time working there. Cadence employs about 4500 people globally."
"Cadence Design Systems is a pretty good company. Compensation and benefits were good. Layoff package very generous. The thing I most disliked was the management structure. There was no correlation between job title and job responsibilities. Advancement based more on who you knew than how good a job you did."
