"Be very, very careful before accepting an offer from Briess Industries. This company has very little leadership which starts from the ownership, to upper management. Which has led to a lack of direction within the company. Although they may tell you they have a direction, but reality is having an idea, and actually being able to get there are separate things. The lack of infrastructure and commitment to developing the company has set it behind not only competitors, but way behind the industry in which they wish to compete. To support this, I would point to the fact that Briess did not have anything close to a HR department, up until mid-2015. (And no, the person answering the phones and greeting people at the front windows does not make an HR department.) To put things in perspective, this is a company with 150-200 employees, and sales between $100-$150 million. They like to promote themselves as family owned, which technically is true. However the owners are not involved with the company, as much as they like to believe they are. The only connection the owner has to the company begins and ends with showing up for the board of director meeting and reaping the profits. Upper management is credited by employees for directing the company through tough times in the early 2000’s, however a closer look will tell you that the malting industry has exploded within the last 10-15 years with growth of the craft beer revolution. To merely survive, and not be ready for the growth in this industry speaks for itself. In the last 12 months they have gone through 2 VP’s of sales and marketing, 1 IT manager, 1 product manager, 1 quality manager. Just a suggestion, but think long and hard before giving up a solid career, for company that may or may not have a direction."
