"Nothing, it just wasn't my field of study."

"Policies that change from week to week don't help anyone. Consistency is a wonderful thing."

"Schedule has some flexibility. Discounts on books. Management actually recognizes when employees work hard. It offers an unusual application of computer science theory (searching and sorting methods especially)."

"The pay. Little opportunity for advancement."

"Recognize that good employees will not stay without decent compensation for their work. Provide better training and advancement opportunities."

What do you like about working at Barnes & Noble?

"The customer base was rather great, as opposed to other customer service jobs. Rare was it to see an upset customer, and when there was, it wasn't difficult to resolve their issue. It was also nice to have a great discount on books, music, DVDs, and cafe items as an employee. A very generous discount."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress well on your interview, be early to your interview (unlike myself), and show respect and courtesy and you'll probably get the job."

What don't you like about working at Barnes & Noble?

"The pay wasn't very good. My own opinion, I felt booksellers should be payed $10/hr, but it's not my choice."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management is pretty good. I've only run into maybe 1 or 2 managers who weren't very good, but it didn't impair my feelings towards working at Barnes & Noble."
