"90% Stick and 10% Carrot Culture with the Owners enriching themselves."

What do you like about working at Autodesk?

"Microdesk (est. 1994) is still a very immature organization which does not value Sales Professionals who produce and have a large amount of business experience; a large part of this is due to the inexperienced owner's leadership and limited organizational experience. Some examples: There are no annual performance reviews, no Chairman's Club or performance bonuses, and there is no visual road map of how to advance in this company. If you over-perform your quota, you will be thanked with an 80% hike in your quota the following next fiscal year with no performance review and no rewards (ie, performance raise). The Little Carrot: $250 1st place and $150 2nd place weekly scorecard winners based on metrics the sales leadership has put in place. Unfortunately, much like the comp plan given to you, the scorecard is riddled traps and is also manually put together and mistakes are often made and new reps have learned to game the program. The Leadership: Much of the VP's on the sales side are clearly handcuffed and they mostly act as lame ducks serving the owner by regurgitating data the sales team in their respective regions have already communicated to them on their one-on-ones. The VP's have to take weekly rantings and beat-downs by the Owner. The commission plan changes every year and further traps are placed so that high performing reps are not allowed to make any real compensation above the average of $80K a year. Why Go Work Here 1. Sales: Do so if you have less than 5 years of work experience. 64 Sales Reps have come and gone since 2006 for just 4 offices; average employee stays between 9-20 months. 2. Industry experience and knowledge, but don't expect rewards, accolades, or positive reinforcement of any kind."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Questions to Ask Microdesk in an Interview:1. How many of your current reps have been here longer than 4 years Is there anyone with 8 years or longer Reverse: How many reps on the team have been here less than 2 years2. How many of the reps have actually earned six figures as a result of doing $2M in sales"

What don't you like about working at Autodesk?

"Endless traps laid out in commission plans so you can't really make six figure incomes here. Constant crazy changes and re-training because of high turn over."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get a CLUE: Treat people like you value them and they will stay longer!"
