"The management is very incompetent. All they are concerned is how to make numbers up and hide faulty design in software/products. The management only does micromanagement on steroids which intimidates employees. Promotions and who gets to stay and who gets laid off is completely based on olé boy network. Most managers and engineers have been there for 20+ years. There was a number of bright enthusiastic engineers who were new to ATK and who were great contributors. Their expertise was crucial in solving problems that ATK dinosaur engineers could not, but yet they were all laid off and the dinosaurs remained. If you have been at ATK for 20 years you are so untouchable class. I have seen dinosaurs yelling at coworkers in order to push their agenda. I have witnessed them acting as program managers although they are not authorized to. I have witnessed them not completing their tasks for more than a year and blaming it on others, and yet management just let them do whatever they want. At ATK, I had no idea who is running who. Usually, it is the most loud person in meetings that acts as program lead. ATK is ridiculously cheap and will never purchase engineering tools, so employees are stuck to using free student version software. You will never learn anything new at ATK. If you have plan and proof how to improve processes/products, dinosaurs will steal the idea from you and dislike you for pointing out that something was not designed right at first place. You will become their enemy. ATK in Clearwater lost all the credibility in customers eyes, and is shrinking rapidly. In the last 3 years, ATK in Clearwater shrunk from 200 to 80 employees. In up to 5 years, ATK will have only 40-50 employees max. Avoid this company like the plague."
