Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask lots of questions. They won't volunteer anything. Do your homework about their competitors and make an informed decision about whether you want to work here. You will be a more dedicated employee in the long run and ABF will get the message that a change in management does not automatically mean they will get the best workers in the industry."

What don't you like about working at ABF Security?

"There are NO corporate training procedures. I've seen many different hires since I started working here and you have to figure things out for yourself and rely on the kindness of co-workers to share best techniques. Management does not train as a rule, but it's dependent upon the individual at your location."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Invest in training at all levels. Local customers want to talk to local people they can get to know, but the sales structure encourages customers to go to corporate sources for quotes, billing, or transit issues. Get real. Local customers will always prefer local service contact. Train us, please! Send us to the corporate office. Expose us to the larger company vision. It will pay off for the company in higher employee morale, company pride in the work force, and employee retention."
