"Had a great working relationship with the management."
"I worked with Wellpoint Inc since 2007. It is an excellent company with almost 40,000 employees. It provides a stable work environment with very good work/life balance."
"WellPoint is a health benefits company. They are ranked as one of the largest health benefit companies offering network-based managed health care plans to employers, individuals, and seniors. The goal was to implement a web-based payment interface to allow a member to view and pay their monthly bill online using a credit card/check. I was kept on and extended to be part of the team that helped with Phase 2, which was to implement paperless billing. This was a huge project, impacting multiple systems on front end and on the backend."
"Worked at Wellpoint for over 20 years and was able to move up from a lower level to an executive level during that time. Focus and direction were an issue but with the new CEO, Joe Swedish, those seem to be improving. Mergers and layoff's are common and happen frequently."
"WellPoint, a leading health insurance plan, has acquired numerous companies over the past decade and is also an independent licensee of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in 14 States. As a manager supporting the Senior Reporting and Analytics Department, I focus on delivering critical and complex reporting and analytical projects to WellPoint business, Senior Management, and the Federal reporting requirements, handle multi-million $ projects comprising 15-30 technical resources and business personnel's, and durations ranging between 6-18 months over the last 6 years."
"Each department is different. If there is an established structure and project tracking system then it is a good place to work."
"Ok job, fairly easy, check out the temp agencies before choosing one, some pay more."
"Back when I work for Wellpoint, yes I would say the company was good. I had great supervisors that cared and a strong management team that backed the employees. Just like all companies you have your ups and downs but internally I felt my unit was a great unit."
"Good experience. Helped me grow."
"I've worked with Wellpoint for 15+ years, the pay and benefits are good but the bureaucracy and outsourcing have made it a challenging environment to move up."
"Good company overall. I worked in the Government Business Division. Felt like we were doing a good thing - the work mattered because we were helping less-fortunate people get healthcare. However, the good was outweighed by a management culture that was too much high-school politics and cliques in management. Competent coworkers and relaxed atmosphere are good. Lots of stealing credit for work by management."
"I've worked at Wellpoint since 2002. Like the company. Good culture."
"WellPoint HR was the least honest and non ethical. Nobody answers the hotline or takes your complaint seriously if you have any issue with your boss. The managers are able to punish and harass hard working employees for personal purposes. Perjury and unfair practice are encouraged. Be careful. Don't get yourself into the situation that you call the hotline or trust HR for help to result discrimination or retaliation or harassment issues. They will say one thing and do another."
"I worked with Anthem and they say they are one of the most ethical companies. But in the technology, they do not want to admit the truth and allow their websites to have multiple vulnerabilities."
"It's a good place to work. You have a friendly environment with all your supervisors."
