1.2 The pros? - practically unlimited over time, by that I mean it’s capped at 11 hours a day (12 hour shift) - they are open 7 days a week so you have great flexibility on when to work. A plus is that if you need emergency time off. You can always make it up later in the week the time you missed from shift - the break room and bathrooms are all professionally cleaned by a crew several time’s a day - free coffee and hot chocolate - and this place has got to have the cleanest fridge I’ve ever seen at a work place. It smells new. And it’s crystal clean inside. As the crew toss everything every Friday 5 pm without fail - pay starts at $16 for first 40 hours and any overtime is $24 an hour. You max out at 71 hours. You cannot work more than that due to operating hours and your daily hour cap (they don’t want to pay you double time for working over 12 hours) - training is paid The cons? - well let’s start with the fact that training consists of 3 weeks....except in the little paper work you sign at hiring it apparently clearly states that if need be they can up and cancel your class (it snowed, not bad, but bad where the instructor lived) so already training is 7 hour days and you now up and went from 35/week paid training to just 28 hours. This kinda sucked big time. We already get paid less than standard day... - after training they put you in what is called PGU post grad university where you take calls while SME subject matter experts float around to help you. Your first day taking calls? 1-2 calls while half your group hovers and listens in. Then you simply get shoved deep into the calls and yep that’s that’s it for training. On the positive side you do probably learn a lot quicker this way. It’s almost like sink or swim. - they don’t have a consistent start time. Managers will come between 6:10 am and anything including few mins before your shift (did I mention there are tons of things to log into and get set up before you can take a call?)

3.5 Telus is a call center, but my project was not typical at all. Most of our support for Google involved their largest clients and was mostly email based. This was a bold experiment for both Telus and Google, and there were things that went well, and things that could have been done better. Overall, both companies continue to be optimistic and are expanding their relationship. It has been a good experience for me. I have never worked on a traditional "call center" job.

4.8 I worked in Telus International for 2 years in which I was able to grow and assist my peers and team members to achieve their personal goals focused on the companies own values. I also was able to grow in areas of coaching and teaching large groups in Canada and Philippines as well as in El Salvador. Overall I achieved great success and helped others accomplish new levels of knowledge and skill regarding not only the companies material but also their personal growth.
