Sensory Sweep Studios, founded in 2003, was an innovative video game developer. The company’s headquarters and development studio were located in Salt Lake City, Utah. With well-received releases such as “Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting,” “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005,” and “Justice League Heroes,” it looked like Sensory Sweep Studios would continue to provide quality PC, handheld gaming device and console titles for years to come.

Sensory Sweep Studios unfortunately became embroiled in legal struggles in 2009 as employees brought a wage claim lawsuit against it and company founder, Dave Rushton. In October 2012, Rushton was ordered to pay $1.2 million by the court and to serve a 12-month jail sentence. By December 2010, Sensory Sweep Studios was out of business and Rushton was in court again. He plead guilty to several felony charges, which resulted in a six-month jail sentence for racketeering and tax fraud, over $500,000 in restitution, and an order forbidding him from handling other people’s money for a probationary period of 72 months.
