What do you like about working at McDonald's?

"I like the pay. But even then sometimes you don't get enough hours to even make rent. This job is the worst: low pay, long days, terrible customers, and ignorant managers who break labor laws every day. The only good thing I have ever received from working here besides money is making friends with good people. Most of our crew members are awesome. I can't say the same for the management. The supervisors also demand too much. Some days there are only two of us in the front and we are busy. The supervisors still expect us to do suggestive sales. Sorry, it is humanly impossible to do every step right when you have to take orders, make the orders, take the money, and then hand it all out to the customer while smiling and thinking of sales. I have lost count of the number of times I have had to work through my breaks."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't hire any felons please. We already have enough immature students working here."

What don't you like about working at McDonald's?

"There are many reasons that are not so good about working at McDonald's: the pressure to make higher sales, making sure all items are well stocked, making sure the customer has a great experience, and earning a good grade for secret shopper. I have to put on a fake smile and voice at work because apparently my normal voice isn't friendly enough, and my real smile isn't wide enough. Customers are extremely rude and demanding. When your coworkers slack off, you have to work twice as hard. I worked for this company in high school, which wasn't too bad, and then I came back and worked at a different nearby store 2 years later when I came home to save money for school. Now where I work, the work environment is unpleasant, with lazy managers and an uneducated store manager who doesn't speak enough English to pass an elementary state standards test. If you live in the northern central coast of California, the job opportunities are limited, which is the only reason why I still work here. My advice is, if there is somewhere else besides McDonald's accepting applications, then apply there, because if you work here, you will definitely not be Lovin' It."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Schedule enough people to cover breaks, and make sure that all employees receive a fair number of hours. Happy employees mean happy customers."

McDonald's Employee

"I had a very bad experience working with them. I had went to work on 3rd shift as usual one particular night at 10 pm by 12 pm i felt off & kind of sick so i asked my boss for a bathroom break. Ran towards to the bathroom & started throwing up my family had, had the nuero virus which is profuse vomiting fever chills etc. & i came back out asked my boss if i could go home because my family had been sick with what i now have. & he proceeded to cuss me telling me it wasnt the first time he had to do a GD (curse word) job by himself because of slacka** pos workers. Also telling me you can stay thirty more minutes & bag some more orders & stock the sauces & clean the floors before you leave. I proceeded to tell him it wasn't right to make me stay knowing i had attracted a contagious harsh stomach virus whilst bagging others food & possibly having customers & other employees attract it as well. So i told him i couldnt do it & clocked out meanwhile hes cussing me telling me ik wouldn't have a job the next night tk come back to i told the other bosses & even contacted corporate about this particular man & he was never punished suspended or fired nor confronted about the situation even though the others that was there told the same as i did about how he reacted so i quit because i wasnt working in such unsanitary cinditions the floor was constantly slippery never mopped up or cleaned they half butt cooked food & treated employees like they werent important to the company. They also treated there customers very very poorly."

"McDonald's as an organization is a very good company to be a part of. Unfortunately, there are some establishments that don't work so hard under the company's name. Depending on the location and the type of job atmosphere you're in will depend on your performances and overall outcome for advancement."

"This place is absurdly awful. The stench in the back room is irritating. The smell hurts me and my fellow workers. This one time I passed out on the floor and fell into cheeseburger and fry grease. I say this business deserves to be shut down or cleanly sanitized by the sanitation police. If this fast food restaurant is not shut down immediately I will close it down myself. I hope you and your fellow citizens take this under precaution as soon as you see this message."
