"First I would say don't do it . But if you had to insist on taking a plant tour to see what you are in for. and last do trust the plant manager as he runs the operation cheep not efficent."

What don't you like about working at Vesuvius?

"The company has changed management several times over the past 10 years and every change has brought nothing but downsizing. I started out with one job and by time I left I had 4 jobs under my hat and support to get the done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would Listen to people who really know the businness not the consutlants. I would take the parts of the operation that run well and use that knowledge to fix the other parts of the operation that are not running properly,"

"An apparent 'ageism' is present. As a young 30 something is it very difficult to move up in the company even if my record and education normally would be mean a promotion, they have given it to older applicants with less direct experience."
