Zygo Employee

"Zygo is a company of layoffs and furloughs. Owned by a holding company Ametek so focus is only on revenue. This means that employee well being is not a priority. Management will do anything to keep shipping product to kick revenue up to Ametek, This means that product quality and excellence is sacrificed. Most products are 10-25 years old. Over all employee average age is mid 50s with very few younger employees. Upper level management is completely disconnected from the employees. Their focus is on their compensation and they will sacrifice anything to keep or increase it. Place suffers from lack of resources (material/equipment/staff). No investment in new product development and no new product development process. Simply put be very careful if you consider ever working here....read other reviews and look at the company rating relative to other like companies."

"Zygo is a great company with tons of opportunity for upward mobility. There is a strong sense of team-building and the company has an awesome work-life balance. Access to high-powered precision tools makes for a great, real-world learning experience. Training offered by Zygo is thorough and professional. I would have stayed longer but I had to relocate for school. I highly recommend Zygo for aspiring professionals looking to advance in the industrial research and design field."

"I've worked there for almost 7 years. Great people. Everyone has a technical background, from the engineers, to management, to marketing; as an engineer, I love being able to easily explain to management the technical realities and constraints of a task."
