What don't you like about working at ZOLL Medical?
"Upper management was clueless about what it took to produce a quality product and cared more about the bottom line than making the best product possible. They would demand what they thought were minor changes to the architecture of the product and not take into account all of the development and testing needed to make the change. Then they (she) would question why we could not make our schedules. She was and still is a disaster."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be ultra aggressive in your style and closing of the interview. Realize that this is strictly a step in your sales career (unless you can get a position with Lifecor or the EMS division.) There are tons of better jobs out there than this one."
What don't you like about working at ZOLL Medical?
"Pressure on reps. Pressure on customers to the point of aggravation. Changing deals. Completely arbitrary pricing. Lack of incentives. Treating every territory like it has the same potential. No vacation. Screw their reps every chance they can get. They sell the job as having HUGE potential, an expectation of an income in the 150K range, and as a great, happy family. There is so much hidden here that it's SCARY. Zoll does not put your 401K match in until the end of the year so that if anything happens, they keep it. Zoll pays you a ridiculously small commission level until you reach HUGE numbers and jack up your quota year after year so that, again, if anything happens (like a bad economy where they let go 25% of the salesforce) they can KEEP THEIR MONEY. FInally, the 401K is full of 5% commission-paying funds!!! In the end, they also screw you on your commissions by waiting to ship until after the final date to avoid paying as much as they can. I actually benefitted from this in the beginning, but have watched 8 or 9 people have their careers and/or lives ruined from this process."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop pressuring your employees so much. Don't lie to us and tell us that we are ZOLL. Change the compensation system so that everyone has a chance to make money. I shouldn't make less money here than I did as a pharmaceutical rep. Stop lying to prospective employees. If a territory has no potential, a prospective employee needs to know that BEFORE they change jobs, relocate, and then take a pay cut."
"a lot of things to remember on the procedure."

What do you like about working at ZOLL Medical?
"The product line was great- by far the best in the field"
What don't you like about working at ZOLL Medical?
"The pressure to put pressure on customers. Every quarter managers turn the screws to their reps. They say one thing and do another-offer discounts for small deals and then deny it on big ones, etc. The compensation plan is not adjustable- it has nothing to do with the quota of the territory but ratther treats every territory as having the same potential."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Change the comp plan."
