"It was a very dynamic environment, with some of the most intelligent and driven employees I have had the pleasure to work with."

"Don't be afraid to ask questions, even the hard ones. Employees will be frank and answer to the best of their abilities."

What don't you like about working at Yahoo?

"The tools we had to use were limited in functionality. There was also a lack of cohesiveness in the toolsets available, with multiple properties using different tools, very few of which were driven by a centralized tools team."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus. Multiple times projects were taken up, only to be dropped... then picked up again, then summarily dropped... and picked up yet again. This is a waste of resources and money."

What do you like about working at Yahoo?

"Yahoo provided opportunities to learn and move up within the company quickly. In under 2 years I was promoted twice (to leadership positions). I was also able to help promote change and lead in a cross-functional leadership role."

"Show that you can help promote change, lead and be dedicated to your beliefs."

What don't you like about working at Yahoo?

"One of the difficult situations at Yahoo was the lack of innovation at the upper management level and the multiple re-organizations."

"Innovate! And think outside the box. Yahoo needs to be a leader, and not following trends set by other companies."

"I did not enjoy the lack of career opportunities that I had after the Microsoft partnership."

"As a manager myself, I would suggest that a more streamlined process for communication."

"None. I was hired after a short phone interview."

"Constant layoffs and scrutiny over job performance. Work was often repetitive. Zero opportunity for growth as contractors."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The contraction of the company and continuous rounds of layoffs couldn't have been predicted, but once it became apparent that there was no chance of promotion to full-time, being honest in that reality is preferable, instead of trying to flirt with maybes that weren't even a possibility."

"To simply be more forthcoming about cuts were to be done."

"Amazing benefits, great co-workers, outstanding immediate management, massive infrastructure to play with - lots of buttons to press and knobs to turn, to put it bluntly."

"Positive attitude, play well with others, love what you do, have passion and drive."

"Lack of upper management vision, less qualified people sticking around due to a 4 year stock option vesting period. Using open source technology that has been heavily modified and is now years out of date."

"Listen to the teams and managers that produce RESULTS, not the teams that *appear* to produce results."

"I liked everything about working at Yahoo and never had any issues."

"There was nothing I disliked about the company except my position was relocated to California."

"It's the best industry education you can get. Web services, search and digital advertising."

"If you get an offer, take it. You will learn a huge amount in a short period of time."

"It's so diverse that sometimes there isn't enough focus and it's hard to get things done."

"Put 10-20% of the company aside to innovate without boundaries."

"The cool office digs and the open structure made it a great place to come to work."

"Be prepared. The interviews are tough but fair. They're looking for the best talent so it's safe to say you'll be put through the ringer."

"They're quick to pull the trigger and axe divisions as the CEO's change quite often."

"Listen to your army as they are the ones in the trenches every day."
