"WebMD has been around for a while and continues to evolve (not necessarily always for the better). Since the company was acquired, there's been a lot of cost-cutting. Some people tend to stay and don't leave for a while, but on the other hand, there are frequent layoffs and reorganizations happening. Work/life balance depends on the department you're in."

"The Medscape division of WebMD rarely requires overtime and is very flexible about working off-site. My co-workers are friendly and easy-going. The coffee is excellent and the vending machines are subsidized The only downside is that the company isn't doing well financially and general morale is low."

"Really smart and professional people work at WebMD. I don't think they made the right decision to let me (and the other ~249 folks) go but I totally support their decision."

"Give it everything you have. WebMD is a great place to work."

"Well, due to ~17% advertising drop they needed to do a RIF. I got tagged otherwise I'd still be there."

"Keep doing what you think is right. I don't like being let go but totally understand why you needed to do it."

"If slow and steady wins the race and massive amounts of documentation before coding anything works for you, this is your place."

"There is quite a bit of faith in anyone VP and above and even during massive layoffs, the executive staff was not reduced, but actually increased."

"Trim down and make certain the people in process creating positions are not creating stifling processes."

"You're not going anywhere past the position you're interviewing for."

What don't you like about working at WebMD?

"Deadlines and financial pressure. Nothing seems to be more important than making money here, not even an employee's happiness. We often don't feel appreciated, just overworked. Unreasonable timelines are everywhere!"

"I would offer employees more flexibility in the workplace (working from home, flexible hours, etc) and loosen deadlines. It always seems like the financial bottom line is more important than the employees."
