"Great place to work, very structured, fantastic and smart people. Office vibe was very corporate, but each game was run as their own team, like their own min start up team. Good food and snacks, lots of selections for drinks. Never got to use the gym, but it was there. Lots of parking. Team members were very supportive, every discipline seemed to be interested in helping other departments on the team. Plenty of interaction inter-discipline between games. Overall pretty fun, normal office environment for Silicon Valley. Bonuses weren't great. Reviews were once a year and, personally, I didn't feel the rewards received reflected the work I did or the review I was given. I got very positive feedback, but nothing in regards of raise or bonus, did not feel like there was any room for upward movement."

"These are some of the finest people I've ever worked with. I took three separate groups totaling 35 Systems Engineers and Database Administrators that had been thrown together in a recent reorganization and taught them the value and usefulness of Agile in an Infrastructure world. Despite early resistance and utter confusion with new process AND new tools they eventually overcame their natural skepticism and embraced the process in it's entirety. By far and away the finest team I have ever worked with."

"I was a researcher and proofreader at Walt Disney Studios, for the Animated Features marketing department."

What do you like about working at Walt Disney Studios?

"I liked that I worked with talented people who helped put together marketing campaigns for well-known animated features."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you love Disney and don't mind being disregarded at every turn."

What don't you like about working at Walt Disney Studios?

"Too corporate. They didn't like it when an employee thought outside the box. They weren't interested in hearing it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow their employees to think out of the box. Even though they pay people to do that, perhaps someone can come up with an even better idea than the people who are paid to do so, if given half a chance - you never know."

Video Production Intern
in Salt Lake City, UT

"Doing videos for a video game company is pretty sweet."

What do you like about working at Walt Disney Studios?

"I like the people, the atmosphere, and the collaboration. It's also fun to play and capture the latest game being worked on."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go around and meet the other employees--some of the most talented artists work at Avalanche and it'd be a shame to not branch out and get to know such awesome people."

What don't you like about working at Walt Disney Studios?

"Hard to say, I guess the times I didn't like so much was when there was too much downtime. When projects weren't available or ready to be worked on--of course during such times, I filled it by viewing tutorials to sharpen my skills or learn new software on lynda.com."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't settle to get projects done out of convenience or just out of the way--even the little projects should be done with professionalism."
