What do you like about working at Volkswagen?

"It is an upscale clientele business. It uses an upscale approach to market what is comparatively a luxury automobile while still being an affordable class price. They don't stay open till 9pm every night and it is possible to have a personal life as compared to most car dealerships."

What don't you like about working at Volkswagen?

"The sales management team talks a great game about not being like the domestic dealerships. It is still as cutthroat as it is anywhere else in the car business. Management is very selective about who they want to succeed. Very cliquish instead of the family image they profess to have. Some salesmen are fed customers either by having access to Internet leads (while other salesmen are excluded) while still having access to walk-in buyers and referrals by management or calls from ads in car sales magazines. Having one salesman that is given all the advantages and using him to be the measure for everyone else's performance is unfair at best and cruel at worst."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Level the playing field for all sales consultants. Quit playing favorites and act like the family you claim to be. In today's marketplace customers don't have any real loyalty. Any perceived slight and thinking they can get even a $50.00 better deal at another dealership will sway their buying decisions. They will buy there then come to you for service IF your dealership is more convenient. Wake up and see what the rest of the Car Business keeps ignoring! VW has great cars and financial programs. Quit playing games!"
