"I worked at VITEC for many years and found it to be very rewarding. I see negative reviews and understand who wrote them, being a smaller NYS company you tend to know everyone. The experience I gained at VITEC before moving my family out of state was tremendous. I achieved HP, Dell, Lenovo, A+, networking and other industry leading certifications at no cost to me. I built my knowledge from an inexperienced tech given a chance to work here to a highly respected technician by all of my customers. My immediate manager strived for excellence and drove me to excel and become better which I did. When I needed to leave VITEC for family reasons my new employer was impressed at my wide range of qualifications and training I received at VITEC and hired me immediately. At VITEC if you want to work your 8-5 job, improve your skills and be respected by your peers it’s the right place for you. If you are one to slack off, not contribute and be part of the team environment then you will be asked to leave where you can write a negative review blaming others for your problems. VITEC techs repair about 2,000 computers, printers, servers etc. per month, and keeping customers happy was always at the top, so to the naysayers a few complaints out of 20 thousand repairs a year isn’t bad. I’ve read the negative reviews regarding repairs from a tech's standpoint and they aren’t reasonable… companies can’t diagnose, spend an hour or two to tell you what’s wrong with your printer, computer etc. for free. And yes, after diagnostics you may need an expensive system board or other parts that are very time consuming to replace. Some printers take hours to disassemble and replace parts, then calibrate and test, meaning one repair can take a tech 3-4 hours by the book. Best of luck VITEC! "VITEC’s a great place to work, like anyplace else do your job, be on time and you just may have a job for many, many years. Management, Supervisors, have an open door policy and are always fair and listen to you, your suggestions etc. Being a smaller company it’s easy to see who wrote some of the negative reviews, disgruntled fired employees. As with any company, if you're nonproductive and violate company policy, you may lose your job."

"I watched Vitec go from profitable to losing most contracts and closing offices in just couple years. Remaining offices are overworked with minimum staffing of inexperienced technicians, caused by high turnover, only pay $14 an hour to the techs that are the backbone of their business. The techs soon leave for a job that will pay them per their experience and thus Vitec gets the bottom of the barrel and provides no formal training. I guess this is what happens when Daddy gives you a company!"

"I started out with VITEC as a field tech shortly after undergrad as I needed a job. It was part of IKON at the time. The pay was adequate at best. For the first 2 years I felt like a glorified repairman. The on the job training is excellent as is the opportunity to keep learning as much as you can. The company is very supportive of that attitude and rewards accordingly. I eventually worked my way up to the service desk, then Systems Engineer, to where I am now 9 years later."

"VITEC is the big kid on the block in comparison to other competitors in its space, as it has been around the longest - the bread and butter comes from maintenance of state wide contracts. It was a great opportunity for my sales career as they were making a push to bring in more private sector accounts. The marketing at VITEC sucks! The upside to that - one of the owners has a sales background and understands the importance of hiring seasoned sales professionals with experience and they pay well."

"Nothing, the company enjoys the fruits of others labor, there is no room for advancement, It is poorly run by poor choice of upper management including both owners."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"STAY AWAY......I'd rather shovel horse droppings from a barn, but an interview is not likely as long as you can breathe and have two legs, you're hired."

What don't you like about working at VITEC Solutions?

"Everything, The company is stretched thin and works you knowing you won't leave because you have bills to pay, then when you finally do, no problem they will replace you with a temp or someone else who is desperate for a paycheck, if most of their business was not contract they would have no work. The suckers get locked in for a few years then eventually do not consider VITECS bids for service again. The company is run by a kid and a dirty womanizing used car salesman."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Like the last review says. Start over. Starting with the top 3 people."

What do you like about working at VITEC Solutions?

"Not much. There isn't much to like. it is a poorly run company with terrible management, and shoddy technicians."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"There is better work out there, the post office is probably hiring. This company will crash and burn."

What don't you like about working at VITEC Solutions?

"No one in upper management has any experience in the field, therefore, many decisions are made non-informed. They do not give raises, rather, they fire and then replace. Short of upper management, no one in the company has had a raise in two years, even though the company had better years than ever before, increasing their bottom line by cutting essential services and quality technicians. Rather shoddy record keeping,and very guilty of scamming either vendors or customers to get what they need. i.e., charging customers for warranty work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Start over. The poor decisions on who to promote , and the even worse decisions of those promoted which have been made over the last 5 years are affecting your standing with both your clients, and within."

"The company appears to be rather flexible with instant employment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviews work just like any other interview. You show up dressed (polo and khakis), you wield a smile and state relevant skills to the position. Usually you'll have an interview with one manager from ViTec and another from whoever they're contracted with."

What don't you like about working at VITEC Solutions?

"Lack of communication within the division. Just because you may work for this company, doesn't mean they acknowledge you as a Temp. They hire strictly on single job contracts. If you're taken from that contract, you cannot work on another job for them. They also have very high turnover rates due to laying people off without warning or coaching. If they find that you are not doing the job to their standards, they do not tell you about it. They quickly fire you."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management is fairly laid back. However, they do not coach their employees. If the employee is found doing something that they do not like, they do not tell the employee; even if the employee is unaware to what it is they're doing wrong. They terminate their employment and hire a new person and start the process all over."
