"I worked on the PSYCHIATRIC UNIT at VA, Durham, NC"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Only if you are used to military = it has its own culture, I am thinking. Difficult for non-military people. The staff at the VA where I worked were very curt, abrupt and mean tone of voice toward patients. I spent all my days trying to keep patients away from staff so they did not get into fights and loss privileges. The staff were terribly uncompassionate. The staff spent negligible time with patients on one to one or just in conversation. One RN spent most of his time, looking at catalogue online!"

"The staff were mostly very unkind and some downright MEAN to the patients. The atmosphere was punitive instead of supportive"

What suggestions do you have for management?
