"This research lab provided me with a great opportunity to learn and grow my skill set."
"Really a dead-end job because they tend to only promote people they know. You can work very hard for very little recognition. The new Director made a lot of changes but the AD's couldn't handle it, they would just delegate and didn't know how to plan or execute. This made it very difficult for the people actually doing the work."
"Very good experience working in VCU."
"VCU is a Research University."
"I am worked at Virginia Commonwealth University since 2018 as a researcher."
"I have a great time during my PhD studies at Virginia Commonwealth University."
"A wonderful company, wonderful benefits and great working environment."
"I worked as an unpaid intern, the center itself is good, the Director is friendly, but the pay is not good"
"I've been volunteering with VCU for more than two years. The place keeps on growing and opening new opportunities annually. I found that the place, like any other, could improve its relations with its staff and workers. But it seeks out for improvement and is a good listener of any complaints or comments."
"A great place to work. There is a fantastic culture of growth and learning. The setting is diverse and engaging!"
"I had been with VCU for awhile first starting off as a part time desktop technician and then hired on as a full time manager of student technicians who oversaw and supported in computer technical fashion the whole student population at VCU. Once I graduated with my BS, they promoted me to the staff side of the division and I managed over 500 computers and 400 employees in a Windows Active Directory environment with settings and configurations set within MS Group Policy, all of which I had learned on my own. On top of managing users, computers and network devices such as copiers and printers, I also managed and maintained web applications on Windows Server 2008 running IIS 7 and also a file server again running Windows Server."
"I love Virginia Commonwealth University!"
"I've worked here for some time and have realized my co-workers are great but the pay and work is not. Seriously getting under paid for a skilled area of employment. The work schedule is flexible and the supervisors are friendly and approachable. Some of the customers are not the best to get along with but that comes with any customer service position."
"As a student worker, I don't have too much say in the goings on of VCU libraries, my responsibilities are not many, and it is hardly a job relating to my field. However, I enjoy working there, and I learned many skills: time management, office work, etc, that I hope will come in handy in the future."
"I have been with the company for about 5 months now and have tremendously enjoyed the atmosphere of the office. My co-workers and I enjoy each other's presence and I feel as if I am being challenged with the work I am assigned and produced for my company."
