"Look somewhere else unless you enjoy mindless dribble. Know the STAR format of interview questions. Focus on the client first."

"Micromanaged in the phone centers. There is little room for career growth in the Charlotte office. The policies and procedures are ridiculous."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would increase the salaries of all employees. I would change the hiring/promotion methods. I would provide monetary incentives for meeting useful goals. I would not micromanage as much."

"It is a good job out of college, you will learn a lot about investments, just don't expect to make a lot of money."

"If you don't fit into company culture you will have major problems moving up in your career."

"Focus more on my strengths than always what the negative aspects of my personality are."

"Fast paced, ever changing environment and high level thinking. SOP and WOC creation and freedom to get the job done."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Stay motivated and don't get frustrated. This is a fast paced environment. Trust yourself and your training to show you the way. Stay focused and calm. Proceed with your day and keep 3 phrases in mind (attention to detail, sense of urgency, and professionalism)."

What don't you like about working at The Vanguard Group?

"Extremely long hrs. Most of the time I put in 12 hrs day and on call 24 hrs a day."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would recommend spending more time with SOP and process development. This way everyone, including safety has definite guideline to abide by in all instances."

"They cared about the groups and it was like a family."

"Know about the job you are applying for so that you can speak and the interviewers can see that you have an understanding of the job."

What don't you like about working at The Vanguard Group?

"They got to big and when the first CEO retired the family feel was gone."

"My management team was great and we all work together in order to make sure the job was done correctly the first time."
