I work with not only my colleagues but internal and external customers/suppliers as well so it is important to have an open flow of communication so expectations are clear and all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Although, I appreciate and enjoy my work I am looking for a career that provides more of a challenge. I am seeking the opportunity to use and expand my knowledge and skills in the field of Law."

"It's a career change for me so I am learning about being an accountant and about government work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"There should be a grand amount of opportunity since just about a third of the workforce is set to retire in the next few years but I feel that there just isn't the drive or the structure to aggressively train/promote people."

What don't you like about working at US Postal Service?

"Politics. I just found out that a newer hire than myself was given a fairly significant project. He is one rank higher but we work as a group. It isn't the first time that I have seen others being selected for tasks. I don't feel that I'm being singled out, but it's hard to say that it's anything I am doing/not doing that is causing me to be looked over when the person in question just started."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would start by implementing more structured training within the independent departments. The overall orientation is lacking once you get to your group."

"The diverse work force I had to manage."

"Being much younger than the workforce I managed made people unwilling to take direction from me."
