"Your definition of over or under paid for the military depends on your political views. I really enjoyed the pay. It gave my family plenty of opportunities and "toys." There are some that disagree with me. The work requires no prior knowledge, training, or experience. So, the pay is EXCELLENT. But, here is the tradeoff that makes you earn it. You have to sign a contract that basically says, "Sir, I swear that I will go wherever you tell me to and stand in front of a flying bullet.""

"For the extreme weather conditions we are exposed to, the stressful environment and the bs we have to deal with this job is extremely underpaid. I would not recommend it for my worst enemy."
