"USACE is a great place to work, if you arena the construction side. As a Construction Control Rep(Field Engineer) or engineer, it's great. Unfortunately, there is not room for growth, as you have to apply to promote. As you look to higher pay grades, you are required to meets education requirements and additional licensing which are not applicable to the job. Overall management tends to be engineers with advanced degrees and licensing who are not people-oriented and have very little actual job experience and are bad trainers.
