What do you like about working at US Airways?
"I LIKE THAT FACT THAT I MEET DIFFERENT PEOPLE EVERY DAY. THAT I AM TRAVELING AND SEEING DIFFERENT CULTURES AS WELL. THE FACT THAT I MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN EVERYONE'S LIFE WHEN THEY BOARD AN AIRCRAFT. ALSO THAT FACT THAT ITS NOT JUST THE SERVICE I PROVIDE BUT THE KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNIQUES THAT ARE TAUGHT TO ME TO SAVE LIVES. TO ME THATS WHAT MATTERS THE MOST."

"LET THIS COMPANY KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD BRING TO THE TABLE IF HIRED. DONT BE AFRAID OF REJECTION, AND ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND IT DOES NOT HURT TO TRY IT ONLY HURTS WHEN YOU DONT TRY."
What don't you like about working at US Airways?
"THERE RESERVE SYSTEM: NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD A BLOCK (SET SCHEDULE). THE FACT THAT THE COMPANY HAS NOT BEEN VERY GOOD ON BONUSES AND OTHER BENEFITS THAT WERE TAKEN AWAY, (PENSION, RETIREMENT, 401K MATCH DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR ETC)"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"YOUR FRONT LINE OF OPERATIONS ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES, IF YOU START THERE BY TREATING THEM WELL AND GIVING THEM BENEFITS, SALARY INCREASES ETC. THEY IN RETURN WILL PERFOM TO PAR AND GIVE BACK THE COMPANY THE DEPENDABILITY THAT THEY REQUIRE AND EXPECT. IN RETURN YOU HAVE A COMPANY RUNNING AT FULL FORCE WITHOUGHT PROBLEMS AND ONLY MARGINS FOR REVENUE AND PROFITS."

"The people and challenges within the industry. The relationships and interactions that took place. The companies ability to allow my leadership to develop and multitask my priorities in order to develop a successiful team."

"Just open and honest about your desires and needs, and to realize that you ahve the ability to accomplish anything."
What don't you like about working at US Airways?
"When it was America West is was a great experience, culture and the people were amazing. When the company took over US Airways it grew from 10000 people to over 40000 people and many upper management as well as employees were effected. The effectes were either transfers and reassignments or layoffs. The culture changed and we started to develop a less proactive stance with all of our duties. Due tot he size and change we also developed more levels of management and increased requirements to complete certain tasks."

"Be more open and listen and do not let yourself forget where we can from and what we have had to do to get here."

"Be a professional. Know about the company and its history. Be prepared to make good decisions that reflect a thorough knowledge of the aviation regulations while keeping in mind the human element of any teamwork based environment."

"The lack of growth in the industry has kept me from transitioning to a Captain position, with the accompanying responsibility and pay."

"Do whatever it takes to maintain the future prospects of the company. A lot of people are depending on your ability to navigate the stormy waters."

"You can work independently, always going somewhere different each trip as well as always working with someone different and meeting all kinds of people on the job."

"Having to work Holidays, and weekends. Also being on call for 24 hours a day for max of 6 days. Very unsafe."

"Listen to your people out in the front line of passengers. Make changes for the better and have suggestion boxes in each crew room"
