"This is a good company, but they struggle the same as any large company. They are worth the time to work there and see if you are a good fit. Most people have been there for 10+ years."

What don't you like about working at URS?

"They seem to hire anyone to fill a position and then complain that they do not have the experience needed. They are focused more on filling a spot them finding the right people."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn to management, not micro-manage. Lean to encourage people not discourage them."

"It was a busy office which I prefer. Friendly atmosphere with helpful people."

"The best part was the people. Everyone respected each other."

"Have a Can Do attitude. Be confident. Be an independent thinker."

"Hand me down equipment. Our office chairs were really awful."

"Plan more team building events and employee get togethers offsite."

"If you are knowledgable of the environmental regulations and cannot wiaver from ethical values such as acting with honesty and integrity and following standard operating procedures, look elsewhere for meaningful employment."

"The structure of senior management with little face time with the managers that do not work at the site interacting directly with operations managers. The need to be precieved as politically correct versus technically correct."

"Spend more time with the hands on presonel working in direct interaction with plant operations personnel."

"I like the coaching opportunities. I want to help employees develop."

"It is a good company for experienced agents that do not mind low pay."

"I want to feel secure in my employment and unfortunately I do not feel that way."

"To hire a consultant. Sometimes a third party may help."

"The job is winding down and will soon be complete at the Stockton, UT site, so you should look elswere for work."

"The site is remote so the commute is long. (48 miles one way.)"

"Management was a bit much to many people to go to for one thing."

"Don't believe anything they say about what you might be doing, especially if it sounds too good to be true."

"It is boring and many days I actually have no work to do. Do not feel as there is an opportunity to advance b/c there is no opportunity to prove oneself."

"I would charge our work differently, I would make a more sincere effort to understand and acknowledge the contributions of my employees."

"Good working environment and great people. The position allowed me to evaluate a lot of different and specialized equipment."

"This process gathers a lot of information that allows the company to identify your qualifications and that is a good thing."

"I was separated from my collegues. We worked at separate facilities."

"I would ask that when management requests input, they incorporate it into their decision."

"It is a stable work environment, but there is a lack of energy."

"Realize that it is first and foremost an engineering firm."

"Opportunities for growth are not readily available -- they are often given to friends."

"There would be more vision that is brought down to the office level."

"Work life balance is good. My manager is a decent guy."

"The only reasons to work at URS are job security and work/life balance."

"Senior management doesn't get it. We don't have the tools we need. The business doesn't see IT as a partner. We have a lot of incompetent people in positions they have no qualification for. We don't have any control over aspects of IT that are critical to our success."

"I would focus much more on leveraging technology to enable business."

"Good colleges, variety of work. Stable job in this economy."

"make sure that you like your coworkers, there are many great people at this company."

"we are not given enough freedom to persure new projects."

"Be more progressive. Allow small groups to do more. Cut back on paperwork."

"Flexibility and no micromanaging and paying employees what they are worth."

"They should shoot high for their initial pay because getting a pay bump doesnt happen once you are in."

"The lack of opportunity for advancement and raises. Paying people what they are worth is not there."

"Communicate better with employees. Be open and honest with the employees."
