Aircraft Structures Engineer
in Louisville, KY

"UPS was a good place to work overall, although not as technical a job as I would have liked."

What do you like about working at UPS?

"I liked working for the United Parcel Service because it was very family friendly, and it offered plenty of growth opportunity for its employees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is a very professional work environment. Being careful what you say and do, and how you present yourself, are extremely important. If you have a beard, shave it before going into your interview, as beards are not allowed in the workplace. In addition, hair may not be long enough to touch your collar, and sideburns may not extend past the ear lobes. Mustaches are allowed, but the corners may not extend beyond the corners of the mouth. A suit and tie are also required on Monday through Thursday. Incorporating these guidelines when you go to your interview will make you a much better candidate than someone who does not."

What don't you like about working at UPS?

"What I disliked most was that there wasn't as much opportunity for deep technical work. Much of the work was administrative, though nonetheless invaluable to a student becoming familiar with the mechanical engineering field."
