What do you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"The work atmosphere was so very pleasant with all learned people around you to look up to. For every question of mine, their was a convincing answer. Also their was the flexibility on job, you could be providing support on networks, sometimes designing networks or testing the equipment in lab before installing it on the production network. Their were various roles which I was mentored for and that too with a very helpful work environment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The most important tip is that one should show eagerness and desire to learn and upgrade one's technical skills. What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"Poor documentation, poor chain of command, hard to follow up on anything above or outside your immediate project(s). Performance reviews were non existent, as were opportunities to take career development training. Unless you're administrative staff, working there as a non-faculty, grant-funded professional was not always well accommodated. Some buildings are in bad condition, especially if you're there full time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get the paper trails working more efficiently for employees. Have more control over who to talk to for administrative questions and problems. Get your buildings in shape--older buildings have health and safety issues that were very hard or impossible to resolve. Be sure all employees get annual performance reviews!!!"
