"It offered the opportunity to take ownership of many of the subjects I just recently studied obtaining engineering degree."

What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"It was only a teaching assistant job, to earn stipend for graduate degree."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A more structured grading scheme would make it simpler, but I realize the importance of having judgement and constant revisement of grading scheme."

"Umass has been good to me overall over the years. Their recent struggles have forced me to look for more work aggressively, but doesn't change the fact that they are still a decent company to work for."

"I was in charge of getting popular acts but communicating with various booking agents and working with the school to formulate the budget. It was a good experience for me."

"I really liked engaging the students in class to ask questions and be free thinkers."

"Maintain a high GPA and always make yourself available for students and professors."

What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"My boss was embarrassingly inefficient in regards to organization and communication. I believe she had severe OCD, which made it very hard to please her in my personal style of organizing."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The management needs to e-mail back on time and not ask ridiculous personal favors that don't pertain to your job description."

What do you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"I really loved working with maps in the map collection."

"Work in the library and in the map collection upstairs."

What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"The students could be a little much from time to time."

"This experience was eye-opening. Especially the behind-the-scenes work involved."

What do you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"The structure of the company was organized with good leaders and teachers. The chefs were helpful and gave us freedom to learn by ourselves. You were working with a group of peers who were attentive and respectful."

"Be prepared to work and learn from your mistakes. Use the skills learned from this position because it can be transferred to other professions."

What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"Sometimes the chefs allocated the workload unfairly which caused some of my peers to complain."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Establish a more organized staff schedule so that work is done efficiently. Often times to many people were scheduled with an uneven amount of work to be done."

"I worked in the Chemistry Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for 5 years and found it to be an intellectually stimulating environment. This department is highly collaborative and open, and conscientious of the needs of students. It has a high standard of excellence with regard to the quality of the research undertaken and seeks to instill within students a sense of pride and responsibility in the work that they do."
