Working at University of Massachusetts in North Dartmouth, MA: 15 Employee Reviews

IT Assistant

"A pleasant place to work."

What do you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"The work atmosphere was so very pleasant with all learned people around you to look up to. For every question of mine, their was a convincing answer. Also their was the flexibility on job, you could be providing support on networks, sometimes designing networks or testing the equipment in lab before installing it on the production network. Their were various roles which I was mentored for and that too with a very helpful work environment."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The most important tip is that one should show eagerness and desire to learn and upgrade one's technical skills. Also one needs to be confident in the interview as the job profile sometimes does have a support role wherein you have to handle irate professors and lab incharge. One needs to show inclination towards customer service as well."

What don't you like about working at University of Massachusetts?

"The compensation was not according to industry standards, but that's the way it is, because it was a place to learn and grow."

"I worked at UMass Dartmouth in a research laboratory for over two years. During that time I was exposed to exciting research and was able to greatly expand my set of skills. I contributed to work that was published in a high-impact journal. The pay was not the best, but the benefits were exceptional. I was treated with respect, kindness, and congeniality; it felt as though I was part of a second family."

Research Assistant

"I worked as a research assistant for a little over a year, my experience was very positive and I learned an incredible amount. I wouldn't say the job required long hours but it was tough to fit it in with my school schedule at times. There was a lot of expectation to produce good results which could be stressful at times and It involved a lot of presenting to groups of people which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. all and all I'm extremely happy to have worked as a researcher."
