"They hired someone with zero supervisory experience who didn’t know the university policies and procedures, even though she came from another state university in NC. She lets one person work through lunch and leave early because she likes them, but refuses to let those she doesn’t like. She thinks nothing of telling you your personal (non-work related) faults as if it were appropriate to do. She threatens to write you up for things that she can’t write you up for. If you ask for help, she tells you she figured it out so you should be able to, even though she was the department representative for that particular project. Way too much favoritism and you have no recourse because HR is a joke and the director wouldn’t get involved. After working for UNCG for 18 years with no personnel issues, I left the university less than a year after working under this person. The worst supervisor I’ve ever encountered."

"I worked in the Interior Architecture Department at UNCG for 7 months, before school fundings were cut and they were unable to keep me employed, I enjoyed my work, because it was relevant to my interest in computer science and i.t. networking. The supervisor was an easy going person and a flexible manager that was willing to teach and help expand the knowledge that he offered to his assistants. The bureaucracy of the school and independent departments did limit my supervisors ability to expand."
