"It's a good place for an emerging developer, you will need to be inventive in getting the most out of the resources you are given, within the limits imposed, but in so doing you will grow as a professional."

"Lack of resources available to improve work, too little focus on those parts of the project lifecycle I am best at, lack of growth opportunites, excessive compartmentalization of tech staff."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Consolidate technical groups in various parts of the university, implement formal project methodologies, allow more R&D based on emerging technologies. Tie recognition programs to specific achievements, rather to often ambiguous criteria."
