"I have worked for University of Nebraska at Omaha, in IT department for 2 and half years. 2 years as a web developer and half year as a multimedia manager in the same office. I really enjoyed working there. It is a total learn-and-experience environment work place. If you have any trouble solving any cases or projects, you can always ask your co-worker and also the boss. They are extremely helpful."

"I worked at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Career Services for a year. I was one of their two Marketing Assistants in the office. The atmosphere was great and I was excited to go to work every day. My bosses and other coworkers were what made the job so amazing. There were super flexible when it came to accommodating the job around my classes and other activities. There was a lot of work to do with the job, but it was always enjoyable. Highly recommend!"

"I have worked at UNL since 2015 where I performed graduate research with real-world applications to bridges. The work completed at UNL helped me in expanding my knowledge about the actual behavior of bridges which in turn make me more excited and willing to work in bridge design, rating, and live-load testing."

"I worked for University of Nebraska Press for two years, first as an intern before I was hired full time. Not being a former student at the University of Nebraska I always felt like an outsider in my department. On the flip side, University of Nebraska Press is a wonderful university press and I had the opportunity to work with many great writers."

What do you like about working at University of Nebraska?

"I enjoyed the autonomy afforded to me. I did not have a set schedule but was trusted enough by my PI to know when I had work to do & was always trusted to perform my test runs on time."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would say to be honest. If you are willing to put in the hours to complete a test run, let the Prof. you are interviewing with know that. It is quite a bit of work, and more waiting, but it is worth it to see your results go toward a published paper!"

What don't you like about working at University of Nebraska?

"I was limited in the number of hours I could work per week, which crimped some of my progress. I could come in after-hours and work, which I did, but was not compensated for some of my hours. I also did not like that we had to move our lab equipment due to renovations being completed on one of the buildings. Due to this, one of my projects was delayed."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take off the hour restrictions on student research. Also, I would like to have had a better study to base my research on (we were not sure if some of the results were fabricated). Everything else was amazing!"
