"Participated in four Census surveys in various cities and states since 2010. Have experienced considerable variability in management and conditions in each. The 2020 census survey was well supported despite having to travel on occasion over a hundred miles a day to find respondents in rural areas. The recent 2021 follow-up survey was poorly planned and I was required to travel over 1000 miles a week to locate respondents as well as submit work hours to the supervisor 4 hours from the census area. No onboarding briefing indicated that this was to be the case and was not expecting the extra workload this entailed. The supervisors then denied responsibility for the difficulties that ensued."
"Interesting and very fast-paced. Quite structured and sometimes hard to be allowed workarounds for issues, but dedicated personnel."
"This is a great place to work."
"My previous company provided an opportunity to further develop my management skills."
"I have worked with the census twice now once in 2010 and again in 2020, both times were good experiences"
"I worked for U.S Census Bureau from July14, 2020 to October 13, 2020. My roles were to train, monitor, approve pay and supervise enumerators for US 2020 Census. I had great relationships with all my enumerators and other supervisors for this exercise. I would do this job again."
"Great company, great work and really impressive."
"I loved working for the U.S. Census Bureau and am sad the position will soon end. The job led me to complete important work, it had flexible hours and good pay, and allowed me to meet all sorts of people in my local community. The job has also led me to make an impact on our country's future by ensuring an accurate count of our residents."
"I worked for RGIS part time and then virus came. I enjoyed the work. Because of the low pay and being let go prior to job ending to keep their staff regulated. I decided to move on. The pay was too low and was not worth the short hours. I am seeking where the above will change."
"Since I started from the beginning, it was very unorganized. You'd think that they had 10 years preparing so all offices are on the same track. Instead, it was as if the offices started from scratch with little direction. Every office functioned differently depending on the Office Managers. Slowly, the organization improved for over 5 months."
