"There is very little autonomy in the region I worked. The company as a whole is very employee oriented, however, I would suggest you seek employment at other locations."

What don't you like about working at United Blood Services?

"The regional control and micromanagement. The focus on mistakes and the lack of support for the initiatives you implement. There is a lot of talk about empowering employees, but in reality there is no empowerment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Loosen up. Include managerial employees in the strategic planning process. Listen to employees. Don't be insulted when employees disagree with your ideas."

"The community of workers which the environment (the management) created is excellent. Particularly the mental energy and passion expressed by the workers was fantastic"

"I had no problems with this company. My path was clearly explained upon hiring and at each point of review. I was presented with a better opportunity which they admittedly could never match. No complaints on my part."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep up the good work - I still remember working at Blood Systems (not BioCARE) very fondly, and learned some substantial life-lessons in my brief time with you."
