"My background training was on the biology, biochemistry and molecular biology of marine species. I have a solid background and experience in DNA cloning, real-time RT-PCR, western blotting, yeast-two hybrid, in vitro protein binding, protein purification, microinjection and electroporation of fish embryos, and whole-mount in situ hybridization. I have been an essential asset to the NIH-funded project entitled, “GABA receptor-interacting proteins” in Dr. De Blas laboratory. In this laboratory I focused on three proteins (protocadherin-C5, collybistin and an E3 ubiquitin ligase) that interact with GABAARs, investigating their roles on the assembly of the postsynaptic GABAergic complex in neuronal cultures. These researches led to several publications in top peer-reviewed journals and communications to National and International scientific meetings."
