"I've worked for Professor Lukas Chrostowski as a Software Research Engineer at UBC's Department of Computer/Electrical Engineering and I learned so much about silicon photonics. The projects that we worked on were insightful and the people that I worked with were willing to assist with any problems I had. I would definitely recommend working under Lukas as a researcher because of his passion for the industry and his keen willingness to share his knowledge with others!"

"I have worked for the UBC bookstore for 5 months now. I like the workplace culture at the store since it not only believes but also delivers exceptional customer service. It delivers a vast range of products and services to all students, faculty, and visitors on campus. The pay rate is exceptional too along with other benefits and union membership offered at the store. However, it might not be a great fit for someone looking to grow ambitiously up in the company."

"I've worked at UBC Okanagan for nearly 2 years as well as also been a student here for my BSc in Biochemistry. Is it an excellent place to learn and evolve as you want. People are very collaborative and willing to help you if they can. The one drawback is the pace of the workplace. Paperwork or getting things done promptly can test one's patience here."
