"I never had a clear definition of who my boss was and who I reported to. The communication between boss and subordinate was awful."

"I would improve the communication level because as of right now it is basically non existent"

"The company is awesome. The company vision is starting to skew slightly. It is still the most respected car company in the world."

"The company culture does not always transfer to management. Each manager is pretty much free to do as they please. So, it's difficult to create any global tips. New managers are not confident and feel threatened by those that are. Established managers are set in their ways and want you to already know what they know and think how they do. Most of the upper management are just afraid. The ultimate tip would be to read The Toyota Way book."

What don't you like about working at Toyota?

"New management brings in non Japanese work ethics. This creates confusion as you try to work with all the different cultures."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to the people actually doing the work. They are the ones in the trenches and will be most affected by your decisions."

"Kaizen activities are conducted on the production floor, where there are too many interruptions."

"Communication between managers needs to be improved. Each manager of the department has to take responsibility for the dept."

"Big company with great benefits and an awesome campus. There is a dry cleaners, cafeteria, coffee shop, etc.... Very convenient."

"The Japanese culture is very different and is not as productive as you might think."

"Interview them, not them interview you. Know what your interviewing for, ask questions, Know the culture and ask yourself are you really dedicated to selling cars and giving up your personal life to make a few dollars"

"Hours, inconsistant money and customers, no personal life, lack of respect management gives. Pay isn't great plus they take money away from you as form of a draw check"

"Get rid of minI deals and if there's going to be a draw check, make it that it doesn't carry over every month"

"I enjoy the challenge of the buisness. It is fast paced and can be difficult at times. I enjoy working in a high speed environment."

"Be honest. Without telling the truth you may end up in a position that you wont enjoy. You are only cheating yourself."

"The hours are tough. There is very little personal time in this business. I am ok with working a lot of hours, but there is very little time to even handle personal affairs."

"Try to build moral a little more. I understand this is work, but with the amount of hours that people put in, it is nice to feel appreciated."

"The no smoking policy. I know rules are implemented for a reason, however."
