What do you like about working at Toyota?

"My food vendor rep (who does not work for the company). I have made a couple of friends at work, but I don't really like much about the job. Making coffee is fine and my supervisor is easy to get along with. HR and payroll managers are pretty awesome, as far as HR is concerned."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Not really...good luck. I'm sorry if you have to work here. It looks nicer than it is."

What don't you like about working at Toyota?

"Management is awful and does not listen to concerns of employees, the dress code is retarded, but mostly, it's the sleazy greaseball salesmen that I work with. The rape culture is abhorrent."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reconsider pay structure, upgrade the computers, let the cafe get all of the tips available, take feedback/suggestions from employees, change dress code, distribute revenue better instead of letting the owner pocket $3 million at the end of the year."

What do you like about working at Toyota?

"The best there is!!, everything is orderly and neat accross the organization."

"just adhere to the culture of TPS, then become a process guardian"

"the policy and regulation amonst certain discipliens and functions is so thight and difficult some times to get meaning full insight."

"to become a risk taker in certain aspects of the business."

"No not really. Hold your head up and try your best."

"Straight commission base. Long hours , low pay and trying to please unhappy people."

"Well it is how the enviroment is sturctured across the board that is why I wanted a change."

"I like the spirit of continuous improvement, known as kaizen."

"Show your spirit of constant improvement, of wanting to be better and do better."

What don't you like about working at Toyota?

"Too much micromanaging, too much supervision, and too much focus on the details in lieu of the big picture. A lot of time is wasted in my department, and it is intensely frustrating."

"I would encourage a work culture in which innovative ideas and approaches are considered. That is part of the Toyota Way, but in reality, I have been beaten into doing things the way they've always been done."

"Be willing to give good value and really pitch in,and be sensitive to the culture and make sure you can work in the environment."

"Not a good overall strategy in IT due to disjointed communications overseas. Also the way some things were decided and implemented. We were often under the whims of those we didn't even know, who really did not consult with us to get our input."

"Management needs to be more grounded in the technical issues and reach out to others within and outside the company for input and awareness of issues."

"How management talked down to everyone, no training heres your plate and theres the lot now go sell. If you were new you didn't last 60 days."

"Learn how to take a TO and stop sending sales people back on the third pencil."

"Truly, nothing negative to say. I could continue working daily status quo. However, I do believe if the changes were made that I stated in What would you do differently would be beneficial for all including the bottom line."

"Restructure day to day operations including training sessions between mid level managers and sales staff creating accountability and eliminating complacent behavior which would in turn increase productivity and sales. Stream line and simplify pay plan. Revise weekly work schedules for general sales staff for continuity, freshness and employee retention. Create and implement Team Building Programs."

"My supervisors are extremely resistant to change and never actually consider any suggestions that my co-workers and I (which actually have food service experience) try to give."

"Pay the employees better and give them better schedules. The sales people work far too many hours for little incentive."
