"As always, be honest in presenting yourself. Cary can pick the best, and often do, so think hard about what you have to offer compared to the competition. If possible, talk with folks working there in order to judge morale in the staff."

What don't you like about working at Town of Cary?

"Highly political workplace; few leaders, many managers...there's a big difference between the two. Lots of people afraid to do things for fear of getting written up. Lots of documentation, used for self promotion and self protection."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be more selective when promoting candidates to positions of 'leadership'. Don't settle and take the easy way out. Don't keep making the same mistakes with respect to who is promoted."
