"Great place to learn and gain experience, but little room for growth."

What do you like about working at Timberline Knolls?

"I loved the residents and the people I worked with. I worked registry BHS with the company and love the flexibility to gave me to go to school and/.or have other jobs (I worked a min of 6 shifts a month and no real max). I loved the it exposed me to the world of residential (which I now love) and that I got to see a lot of different disorders treated. The company really does try to put the individual first and treat her with the best care and compassion. The company sticks very close to it's value's statement."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The BHS position is a great place to get experience and get hours towards counselor licensure, but can be a dead end if you want more mobility and do not have an advanced degree. Overall I give it an A-. It's a great job with a great company, but you might end up feeling stuck."

What don't you like about working at Timberline Knolls?

"The upper management does not seem to value BHS staff very much and even views us as disposable. We have the most contact with residents and therefore need good people in this job, so I wish upper management and CEO would value this staff more. Also there is little room for growth at the BHS level, unless you got advanced schooling and applied for a therapist position, but this is rare for people with their MA to do, most get their hours and leave. Also some staff (BHS and Therapist) talk badly about residents calling them manipulative, or entitled or B*tchy and they seem to forget that these girls have real problems, if they were well adjusted they wouldn't have been there. This bugged me and went against the companies values, but it was hard to report it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat BHS staff (and nurses!) with respect and place value on their input. Make communication more streamlined between treatment team members to avoid confusion in treatment."

What do you like about working at Timberline Knolls?

"A good team atmosphere at the lower and middle management level. It can be hit or miss at the higher levels in terms of how much they care about their lower staff, but even the higher ups really care about residents."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be yourself! The culture here is caring and driven towards compassion for residents, if that's you then this will fit you. At the BHS level you need to have extremely good patience, flexibility, and ability to manage your emotions. I love that no day is the same and that I am constantly moving around and managing issues that come up."

What don't you like about working at Timberline Knolls?

"Sometimes it feels like the upper management and CEO do not care about their lower level employees and they treat us like we are disposable. Also sometime communication between treatment team levels is poor so we do not have the information needed to deal with a resident when they are having problems on a spectrum of issues from the minor more customer service type (I said I wanted to go to this group) to more serious (my doctor is post-poning crucial treatment, why) (this is especially true on evenings, weekend, and holidays when the doctors are out). Also there is a high rate of staff turn over for the aforementioned reason and they fact that this is a place to get your hours for your LCPC or LCSW and leave."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Not treat my lower level employees like they are disposable (this goes for my managers manager and up, my direct manager is awesome). We are the one's who are constantly interacting with residents, you need good people at this level and treating them like they don't matter is a mistake."
