The Berry Co. Employee

"Working as part of the IT team was a great experience. The company has a very open policy. The work environment is great. They truly care for their workers, offering great health plans and a reasonable vacation time. You will always have a new challenge to face off. They also have multiple locations so you can work from any of them without a problem. In general I will give a 5 stars, work ethics, personal, and services offered."

"Great place to work for. Outside sales can be hard with all of the travel involved. Around 80% of the year."

"The company changed hands over the years but the work environment remained virtually unaltered. From corporate cultures supported by alltel and windstream in the early years, it was degraded in administration when acquired by privately held interests as local insight media. LIM renamed the company and systematically dismantled it for overseas operations. The Administrators are not supportive of U.S. operations."

"Enjoyable, for the most part, in terms of the people that I worked with."

What do you like about working at The Berry Co.?

"The people I worked with - they are a great group of folks that really want to do the best that they can, for the company."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Expect more downsizing in the near future. Also, they have yet to name new leadership as they still emerge from bankruptcy, which leads me to believe (from experience) that they company may experience some changes in ownership, new partnership, or a splitting off of some it's departments."

What don't you like about working at The Berry Co.?

"The 'power-grab' at the top. Too many times projects had already been discussed and finalized before they came to me, with little to no prior knowledge or input, beforehand. At that point it was simply cutting and pasting (poorly) written 'material' into PPT presentations, which wasn't the best use of my time or skill sets."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Trust in the experience and skills of your employees - you have a team there for a reason: use them to your advantage. The threat of job loss has a lot to do with this - everyone seems to be afraid of giving off the appearance that they don't contribute, so the folks above try to do it all (when they shouldn't)."

Account Manager

"In training they tell you to sell the best package to the client, when you get back in the office it is high pressure and you are almost forced to push a full page ad on everyone. It was extremely stressful and not a good environment."

What do you like about working at The Berry Co.?

"The training was first class."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"No, unless you like being abused do not go for outside or premise sales, inside sales looked a little more tolerable."

What don't you like about working at The Berry Co.?

"The sales managers and directors were extremely pushy - it was way too high pressure."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The management needs to look at the practices that are going on in the offices - in the training you are encouraged to plan the most effective yellow pages ad campaign for the client, when you get in the office you are threatened and humiliated on public tracking boards to make quotas."
