"National Semiconductor was acquired by Texas Instruments after I left the company. While I was there, I found the work both challenging and stimulating, and the work environment very supportive. The company rewarded its successful contributors with a generous bonus and stock compensation plan (both actual and options). Assuming the TI environment is as good as the NSC environment, I would have no problem recommending this employer to others."

Texas Instruments Employee

"I have worked at TI for the last 13 years. TI is a good and financially solid company. I have learned a lot there and made a good living. It's main limitation is the lack of stability of the middle management team resulting in technical brain drain."

"TI management culture dooms high performance analog business."

What do you like about working at Texas Instruments?

"Interesting, knowledgeable and helpful colleagues. First rate design tools and some interesting projects."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you really need the money and don't have other alternatives."

What don't you like about working at Texas Instruments?

"Upper Management selected mainly from Sales/Marketing tended to be concerned with short term bottom line and were less concerned with advancing the art or even maintaining a lead when competition began to reduce profitability. Company will fail unless it realizes that excellence does not come at a cut price."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"TI has traditionally been a low cost high volume commodity supplier, and as performance in the wireless business became more important they conceded defeat. They are now trying to make it big in high performance analog but the Burr-Brown management culture has been replaced with TI culture and unless they do a 180 they will fail."
