"I enjoyed teaching middle school aged students the importance of life skills through check writing and balancing, decision making, critical thinking and morals and values."

"Working at Gateway was a challenge, however, it can be simplified by someone doing their job and maintaining an independence from the other coworkers affiliated with the church."
What don't you like about working at Charter Schools USA?
"The school was funded by a local church which they had organized organizations throughout the school."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest to hire trustworthy teachers that does not require micromanaging. Also, I recommend the school adhere to TEA guidelines surrounding special education and promotion."
What do you like about working at Miami-Dade County Public Schools?
"I enjoy working with my co-teacher. I really enjoy teaching students that love to learn and love asking questions to gain more information."

"Don't do it. There is never enough money. You are constantly worried about loosing your job even if your a veteran."
What don't you like about working at Miami-Dade County Public Schools?
"There is no climbing the ladder in the school system. You are either a teacher or an administrator. Constantly proving that you are a good teacher is ridiculous. In order for you to get help for a student, you have to jump through a zillion hoops before anything actually happens. You work your butt off & there are teachers that take advantage of the system & don't do what they are suppose to & you wind up getting reprimanded. Parents either like you or hate you, no happy medium. They come with a chip on their shoulder or agree with everything you say and do nothing to help their child. VERY frustrated!!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would get rid of grading schools. I would change the FCAT testing. I would not put the sole purpose of a student failing on the shoulders of the teacher."

"It was fulfilling to help children in need and to see growth."

"You must gain patience with the children and make solid relationships with your other coworkers to work together"

"It was a part time job I had in college. Not enough hours."

"I would of like to see more activities we could of done with the kids."

"Go to a school that is not Title I(Carr is); interview the principal as he/she is interviewing you; ask questions; Does your personalities fit Be will to give up much of your personal time"

"back stabbing by self-motivating individuals; no wages increase in years, not even cost of living; no room for upward mobility without going into debt for next drgree in education; too much paper work other than record keeping; lack of discipline of students' misbehavior"

"Come up with a someway to take some of the paper work load off of the teachers to allow more actual instruction time; allow teachers to have more common planning time"

"Seek out a school that is not Title I yet has a lot of parental support; interview the principal as they're interviewing you, look for a personality match."

"Back stabbing, unrealistic expectations; no increase in wages for years, not even cost of living increases; lack of funds for materials, out of pocket expenses; too much paper work(record keeping), grading papers, writing extensive lesson plans, disrespect from parents and students. Work cutting into personal time."

"Go out into the community to hear what the concerns the educators have, not rush to support parent complaints untill he has heard all sides: support educators first."

"The pay was quite nice and my coworkers were quite nice and very helpful."

"Try to learn Chinese, as well as be fun. They are looking for very fun and amiable people that work well with kids."

"It was quite unorganized. The work schedule was subject to change without adequate time for teachers to prepare"

"I would suggest that they become better organized in making class schedules as well as assigning teachers to there working days."

"It's not really the district, so much as working with students. I'm a little burned out having to deal with classroom discipline everyday."
