"The director of the establishment controlled all aspects of the teaching environment - you could not venture outside of the lines without asking and taking initiative was not looked highly upon. The school was divided, by the manager on purpose to create an environment of distrust and vengeful behavior. If you were in the good graces of the director you were looked after if not..."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Offer positive feedback, give critical feedback, but also notice the good. Support my staff, listen to and apply their suggestions. Be more approachable."

What do you like about working at Charter Schools USA?
"The only things I liked were my students and my fellow teachers. Inside our little world I was happy, but EVERYTHING else was horrible."

"My only advice to others considering teaching here is... DON'T!"
What don't you like about working at Charter Schools USA?
"Our first principal constantly berated teachers - privately and publicly, and never supported us in front of parents. The second principal while I was there had NO teaching experience outside of subbing, and therefore was absolutely useless. The CEO of the company was no help when teachers complained, instead he forwarded our complaints to the person we were complaining about, thereby making her even harder to deal with.Additionally, we were constantly required to work more and more hours outside of the school day. I don't mind open houses and conferences and the like, but this was probably an event or two every month after our duty hours that was required."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Lift up your employees instead of crushing them constantly, and you might keep them longer than 1-2 years. I spent the entire two years I worked there looking desperately for another job."

"The mer fact that I am off by 3:30.. I work Monday through Friday"

"Do not go into education. The students and administrators will suck the life out of you!"

"The compensation. The lack of control in dealing with students who are not there to learn. Lack of consistent policies that deal with students who are disruptive."

"I would get to know individuals who make a positive impact on the learning enviornment. Reign in the individuals who do not contribute to a positive learning enviornment."

"Yes I would like to teach students and help them in their courses. Manage their projects and give them outline of what they gonna get from future."

"No, you have to have good resume and good communication skills in order to get the TA position, also you need to be very good in the courses."

"The salary is not good. As you know, life as a graduate student is hard."

"My advice would be to go into the interview with a desire to teach out of love for children and need to make a difference in the life of a child."

"The salary for teacher is too low compared to the work input. The benefit level quality has declined over time and the premiums are higher."

"I really did not like the delay it took in requesting new resources for the classroom. There was a very lengthy wait to get computers and textbooks for the classroom, 6 months+."

"Time management and organization skills need to be improved. There was constant confusion between the campus and the district office which was located in another town."
