Food Line Maintainer

"I've been working at the Taco Bell in Wausau, WI for a year now. Three months after being hired I was promised to be moved up a position and I am still in the position I was when I started. Yet the people that I trained are becoming managers and are moving up. Since then our speed has become slower and the food service has gotten worse."

"The Taco Bell franchise for which I worked was not only disorganized, it was also understaffed. it was expected for a crew of 5 people to do the job of 15 people in a way that it made it seem like it was done by a crew of 20 people. The franchise owner got what he paid for, and the store went under."

"Though the staff and the supervisors were good, the conditions of the company were not that great. For starters, they relied heavily on an operating system for their computers that continually crashed or did not read input. Furthermore, the managerial system in place in the computers was near obsolete; the system that was in place to help ease the burden of management would instead create more of a burden by being extremely unreliable and volatile, for it would be completely erased nightly."

"I started out in this job as a crew member and slowly worked my way up. I worked through a lot of tough times in the company, but they never went away. The problem with Taco Bell (and I worked in most of the Columbus stores) is that there is always a problem going on in the store. You will never have a day where everything goes right or you feel that you are treated and paid adequately for work that you do day in and day out."

"If you have patience and like helping people, it's a good place. If not, then probably not a good idea since it is a customer service based industry."

"It was a learning experience. One that I believe everyone should know and go through in their life. For when you deal with the public as well as a range of employees this helps round your management style and help improve all your lesser styles and have the ability to see things in a different light."

"As with any job there is good and bad with the position you are in. The issue I have with the company is there are no avenues of resolution for the things that a manager or a team member may find to be bad about their current work situation. Outside of the restaurant, there is little support and a lack of direction, the online resources and technology available are, for the lack of a better word, abysmal. The number one aspect to this job is the potential for growth."
