"I worked at SHC from November 2017 until March 2020. The IT department recognizes talent and provides its employees with the necessary tools to be successful. Advanced learning is provided and rewarded. I would recommend it to any IT professional looking for a company to excel."

"Supplemental Health Care allowed employees to move at the pace required with flexibility to everyone's schedule There was a quota that always had to be met, and we were the first gear in the operating system in getting healthcare professionals into contractual positions both locally and nationwide."

Supplemental Health Care Employee

"Supplemental Health Care's primary concern is the facility they contract with, not their employee. I worked for them for years without issue; because I am a good employee. Then one issue arose; a mole hill turned into a mountain. I tried to call 3 different people for assistance within management. They all either avoided my calls, took too long, or were suddenly on vacation. I lost my job; later it was officially found, the issue was minor. But this did not change the fact that I lost my job and had many needless issues given their lack of backing me up in ANY way. Stay away from this company if you want any kind of career protection. Look at your contract; there is NOTHING protecting you and quite the opposite. SHC Staff is spread out across different states. So, if even a small problem arises; your livelihood is in jeopardy and they do not respond efficiently. Protect yourself and your family’s livelihood."

Travel RN

"Supplemental Health Care has always had my back even when dealing with the craziest contractors. The nature of travel nursing is such that you're always the clown in the dunk tank and people are gunning for you. It really helps that the SHC team worked to support me. They found me some great assignments and I had fun traveling, but another reality is that there is no upward mobility. There's no paid vacation, no sick days, the insurance is lame. But it was a great experience."

"Mid level Social service worker that is diverse and viable"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't be afraid to ask what the pay is and what exactly your job details will consist of."

What don't you like about working at Supplemental Health Care?

"The lack of opportunity for growth even though it is told there is. The financial security of the job and the commission."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow the recruiter a chance to have higher commission if the base salary is low. Don't try to make personal friends with the workers, then switch to boss mode if something happens. Have an established relationship and stick to it."

"Poor Executive Leadership. Poor Culture and Values. Unmotivated Internal Staff"

What do you like about working at Supplemental Health Care?

"I enjoyed the teams I worked with. I also enjoyed the travel involved. I also liked their 401K program as there was company match and fully vested!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask the tough questions. Understand the expectations from a production standpoint. Inquire about the autonomy you may have in creating novel ways of recruiting, servicing and driving the business. Good luck!"

What don't you like about working at Supplemental Health Care?

"Very hard to get into the protected circle of management. I also did not like the culture that management promoted and the metrics that all were subject to. Employees accomplishments were not acknowledged, rather, the places they fell short were highlighted on a weekly basis. There were also a shortage of professional growth opportunities as revenue was flat or declining. Management did not engage in servant leadership but operated as controlling, directive giving agents which did not allow for any autonomy from the robotic outline of job function."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I suggest a complete overhaul of Executive Management. The decline in revenue and level of customer service is unacceptable. I would also add that empowering your team is #1 and leaving behind the ego driven, criticism plagued environment should be embraced ASAP. The internal attrition rate is also a major problem and should be examined closely. When employees leave, they take with them relationships built with both clinicians and clients."
