With the promotion I inherited a great amount of responsibility being a SME, leading projects, testing in QA, managing software deployments, as well as training and mentoring. "The cut backs that have become a yearly thing with the company."

"Get back to basics and what you do best in the industry."

"no opportunity to advance unless you move to another state"

"remove certain management and the center would be better off"

"Decent wage, benefit and severance packages. I was laid off at 55 and still qualified for a bit of a pension."

"I don't know about interviewing, but once you're in, make yourself important and visible to management."

"In its off-shoring efforts, it seemed as if management believed that 20 years of experience could be be replicated in a four-page document with a dozen hours of explanation."

"Place a value on experience, even at what may appear to be lower levels of expertise."

"I liked the people. I am no longer there due to a RIF in August of this year."

"I was never sure when the next RIF would come."

"A good manager is one who is willing to listen to the suggestions of his/her workers."
